![]() ![]() That licence is OEM and not transferrable. When you buy a new device (laptop) the manufacturer of the device provides the licence along with the device. ![]() Honestly, if this is the final solution it is very disappointing to me. Microsoft license is not that cheap for me to buy a new one, so it seems I only have one choice which is to go back to my previous state: remove Ubuntu & Virtualbox and re-install windows 10. Then as I no longer "have" my old device, I removed it from my account to only keep the Virtuabox device (now I think this was a mistake). So Microsoft knew my movements and everything was transparent (in my opinion). My new hardware device is also showing "Virtuabox". One with my old hardware and another with my new hardware (I know this because of the machine names showed for each device). Moreover, in my Microsoft account I recently had 2 devices registered. I thought that a digital license holder had sort of independence from the hardware. What is the point of having a digital license then, if after all what it matters is the hardware?. Ok so you are saying my digital license is not only linked to my Microsoft account but also to my hardware. ![]()
